The Weather in Israel - Weather is one of those factors that can make a trip either memorable or deplorable. So here’s the Israeli weather guide for the weathered traveler:

  1. Summary of the Israeli Climate
  2. Recommended Forecasting Websites
  3. Table of Year-round Temperatures
1. What’s the Israeli weather like?

Israeli climate ranges from temperate to tropical, with plenty of sunshine. Two distinct seasons predominate: a rainy winter period from November to May; and a dry summer season which extends through the next six months.

Rainfall is relatively heavy in the north and center of the country, with much less in the northern Negev and almost negligible amounts in the southern areas.

Regional conditions vary considerably, with humid summers and mild winters on the coast; dry summers and moderately cold winters in the hill regions, hot dry summers and pleasant winters in the Jordan Valley; and year-round semi-desert conditions in the Negev.”

“Weather extremes range from occasional winter snowfall at higher elevations to periodic oppressively hot dry winds which send temperatures soaring, particularly in spring and autumn.” (Quoted from MFA site)

2. Getting the Forecast:

Our most recommended source for weather forecasting is the official Israeli meteorological service website. It offers daily forecasting that is both user-friendly and reliable.

Another excellent source is the “IsraelWeather” website , in which excellent tables and helpful tools of weather forecasting are available. Among these are the weekly weather, monthly weather, yearly weather, wave’s height measurement and rain predictions
For specific-city forecast we recommend the Weather site.
Note: there are many popular general sites, such as Yahoo weather, Weatherpost, CNN weather, and more – you are welcome to use any that suit your needs and recommend them to us.
3. Temperature Table:

For those who just want a quick look at how the weather is like without much web-searching – below you have the yearly average temperature-table (from Inisrael website), in both Centigrades & Fahrenheits:
